This course is part one in a series of three courses that provides the skills and knowledge necessary to implement a core Windows Server 2012 infrastructure in an existing enterprise environment. This ebook are based on the General Availability release of Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1.
Objectives:
Deploy and Manage Windows Server 2012 R2.
Describe Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
Manage AD DS objects.
Automate AD DS Administration.
Implement IPv4, IPv6.
Implement Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
Implement Domain Name System (DNS).
Implement local storage.
Implement File and Print services.
Implement Group Policy.
Secure Windows servers by using Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
Implementing Server Virtualization with Hyper-V.
Audience Profile:
MCTs.
IT Professionals who are looking to learn more about Windows Server 2012 R2.
IT Professionals who are looking to take the 410 exam as part of the requirement for the MCSA: Windows Server 2012 and MCSE: Server Infrastructure, Desktop Infrastructure, Private Cloud, Messaging, Communications and SharePoint.
Prerequisites:
An understanding of networking fundamentals.
An understanding of basic Active Directory concepts.
An awareness and understanding of security best practices.
Basic knowledge of server hardware.
Experience working with and configuring Windows client operating systems, such as Windows 7 or Windows 8.
* All of the above pre-requisites can be met by having knowledge equivalent to, or by attendance at, course 10967A: Fundamentals of a Windows Server Infrastructure as this course will build upon knowledge and skills covered in that course.
